A windsurfing DVD can be an excellent way for someone interested in windsurfing to get a better idea of what the sport is about. This is not to say that they are instructional videos: most of them are not. Most of them are in fact promotional videos put out by professional windsurfers. These videos will feature the pros doing what they do best: windsurfing.
Why should the sight of a professional on a windsurfing DVD be of any interest to the average consumer? Well if you are interested in the sport and curious about what it would take to get into it, these videos offer a valuable glimpse into the world of windsurfing. In addition to showing you some of the gravity defying tricks you could one day perform, you’ll usually get to see a variety of techniques used by windsurfers.
A windsurfing DVD is much like the promotional videos put out by the sports skateboarding and snowboarding, where a particular athlete or team is featured in a video. They nearly invariably feature tricks in each video, but may also feature other forms of windsurfing, such as the racing circuit, or a bloopers section where you can see how tricks go wrong.
